Aix Group's Outreach

Local Meetings, International Conferences

One of the primary pillars of the Aix Group's activities is outreach to local decision makers. In this regards, the Aix Group regularly holds private meetings with local leaders to present their research and remind policymakers of the economic consequences of their political discussions.

In addition, the Aix Group organizes several international conferences as part and parcel of each stage of research. The purposes of these events are to bring together the Steering Committee, research teams, administrative staff, and regional and international participants to brainstorm, present research updates, and discuss avenues for future work.

Perhaps above all, these activities crystallize the Aix Group's role as a typical Track II forum.

Outreach Efforts

Although the Aix Group recognizes that a lasting peace agreement between Israelis and Palestinians must ultimately be signed and implemented by the two concerned parties, it is absolutely critical to involve foreign governments and international organizations in the negotiation process. As such, over the years the Aix Group has traveled to the United States (most recently in June 2010), Europe, and beyond to meet with senior policymakers and international representatives to present their research and unique perspective on the current political-economic situation in the region.
